The significance of Immunization

In the time past, parents reported so many cases of children that died in their prime. Many of these parents did not enjoy child bearing and rearing because of this early death. Many did not know why these children died. However, up-to-date witness conducted in my locality, oko agbado showed that many children survive nowadays compared to children two decades ago. Why? The fancy is not far fetched. It is due to the immunization program going on over the distance and breadth of this nation including my community.

What is immunization? Immunization is an act of preventing childhood diseases such as whopping cough, measles, diphtheria, chicken pox, small pox, poliomyelitis and yellow fever by giving chemical substance which has the causative create of the infection to cut virulent state. It can either be given by injection or straight through mouth. The importance of this immunization are numerous.

Children Immunization

Firstly, it has reduced mortality rate among children. As earlier said, about two decades ago many children died because they were not immunized from these deadly childhood diseases. Parents then attributed the death of these children to supernatural phenomenon such as the assault by witches and wizards on their wards, next door neighbour's assault and so many superstitious beliefs. Now, due to this program and group enlightenment given to it, many parents heeded-the call and immunized their children against these childhood diseases and the follow is what we have now, that is, the children are alive.

Secondly, children are now seeing healthy, not only are the children having long life span but also they are seeing hale and hearty. They do not have disturbed growth. Gone are the days when you find some children` using crutches to walk because of not being immunized against poliomyelitis. Like-wise the days are gone when you find some children who survived measles infection but have spotted faces because of not being immunized against these diseases.

Thirdly, on the part of parents especially mothers, they now heave the sign of relief due to surviving rate of their children. They do not pass straight through agonizing experiences of taking their wards to herbalists and spiritualists who will ask them to pay huge sums of money before treating the child. Even most of the time they prescription unrelated and untested drugs for them to use for the hospitals, clinics, and sometimes, wait at home for healing workers to immunize their children. In other words, it saves them time, money, vigor and pains.

In conclusion, immunization has brought sound` condition to the children in the world, it has reduced the agony parents pass straight through while child rearing and lastly, It has reduced

The significance Of Immunization Against Childhood Diseases

We often hear jingles of radio and television urging parents to immunize their children against childhood killer diseases. Unfortunately, most parents hardly pay attentiveness to the entreaties. Perhaps, most parents are unaware of the huge benefits of immunization especially to children.

Immunization makes people immune to disease by injecting tiny, secure organism into a person. This is known as inoculation and the rehabilitation used in immunization, is known as Vaccine. Immunization gives people the ability to resist infection temporally or permanently.

What then are childhood diseases that can be changed guarded against by immunization. These include Cholera, poliomyelitis, tetanus, diphtheria, whooping-cough and measles.

The point of immunization cannot be over-emphasized, because the adverse effects of not giving immunization to our children are very well-know to us. For instance, most people live in congested houses thereby endangering the condition of the young ones who are mostly susceptible to infections. The conditions in our locality make immunization a must for our children.

It is important to immunize our children again because in safe bet diseases, preventing the diseases is more feasible than curing. It is known that tetanus, for instance, does not readily reply to rehabilitation but may be prevented by inoculation.

Most of the childhood diseases are very infectious. Children sickness like whooping-cough, diphtheria, measles and cholera can be spread from one child to another. If an epidemic must be averted in our habitat, our children then must be immunized. For it is only through immunization that uninfected children would be saved the scourge of getting the sickness from infected ones in the neighborhood.

In most cases mothers have shied away from taking their children to the immunization centers because of safe bet misconceptions. Firstly it is relatively easier to immunize our children these days. Because of government's seriousness with primary condition care center's. Hospitals, condition center's, children hospitals and maternity homes are some of the places where our children can be immunized against childhood diseases.

Secondly, it cost nothing for parents to immunize their children. The government is totally committed to child and mother's health, that virtually the whole cost is borne by the authorities. Reputable world club like Who and Unicef are all deep in the task to furnish immunization for our children. Their involvement has greatly brought the aid within the reach of all those who would want to benefit from the service.

Our nation would be greatly helped if our children are immunized against these deadly childhood diseases. They would have been given the start to grow into study youths who would be complicated in the amelioration of society.
